Commercial Description:
Our Ayinger Ur-Weisse is an old-fashioned wheat with some fine roasted malt to give it more color and flavor than golden hefe- weisse. It has an immense crown of lovely foam held proudly above a robe of translucent amber. On the palate, malt and yeast predominate, with a delicious balance of fruit and bread-like yeast. The taste is complex, with suggestions of soft fruit, apple, and, in the finish, perhaps, even cloves.

(bottle, traded with joss - thanks!) Cloudy, slightly murky orange hue with a huge, persistent light-beige foamy head. Dusty, moderately sweet and slightly sour-fruity aroma with light toasty notes and clovy spice. Sweet, slightly viscid initial wheat-malty taste, slightly toasted, banana-fruity; medium bodied with a pleasant carbonation; well-balanced, malty and moderately fruity finish with cinnamon and clovy spice. Aromatic and rounded Hefeweizen.

Bottled. From orange to dark brown colour, with an extremely big and persistent head. Strong banana aroma, with also spices and wheat. Sweet caramel and fruity flavour, maybe too. Surely for my taste. Not bad, but not as good as Brau Weisse.

Aroma of banana, bubble gum, sour cherries. Color is between tan and dark tan - almost like dirty water. Thought it might be slightly darker for a dunkelweisse. The white head dissipated quickly. No lacing. Flavor is sweet with vanila, sugars, fruit - sweet to slightly sour. Apple to cherry. Smooth beer with a dry finish.

OK, I’ve been waiting for this for a while, cause I had to save up to purchase it. Got it today at 3 Sons, Wexford. Upon opening, the aroma’s clean and not too detectable but does have a hint of yest in the background. In my poor steeler stein, it pours almost like American wheat but more sophisticated. Beautifully delicious creamy taste with no insulting tones what so ever. Finish is just great! Perhaps the perfect beer except for the price.

Extremely smooth on the palate. Unparalled color and clarity for a weiss. Beautiful buequet with a hint of cloves and spicey fruit. Very good head with a strong carbonation. Excellent weiss.

This is one of if not the best Weizens i have ever had the joy of drinking. Very smooth and goes down nice, and with a alcohol content of 5.8% it is almost a perfect Weizen. That is my opinion.

Pours a cloudy orange with a moderate white head. Light citrusy fruits (mostly orange) in the nose, along with yeast, some malts, hints of spice. Flavor is light, with strong flavors of yeast and malt, as well as slight hints of orange.
