loseratheart (110), USA Jun 2, 2006 Light brown/hazy orange iin color, with white dissapating head. Aroma is full of fruit, main one of which is banana. Smooth and easy to drink with a little carbonation. Complexity of taste is furthered by the association of yeast, malts, and wheat. Very solid beer all around, actually was surprised by how good this one turned out. ghawener (952), San Salvador, El Salvador May 28, 2006 Bottle: Lots of wheat, bread dough, banana and vanilla. Light bodied and a bit thin, smoth finish. azmtnbiker (20), Phoenix, Arizona, USA May 10, 2006 Light brown in color with a great foamy white head. Citrus and clove aroma. Hints of raosted malts offset by the excellent yeast. Easy drinking dunkel weiss. Brentlinger (5), Greencastle, Indiana, USA does not count May 9, 2006 Amazing beer! I could taste a hint of bananas, citrus, and a whiff of cloves. Beer was so good I bought 8 cases to take camping. People flocked to me over those macro-brews that just don’t cut it. DarkElf (2681), La Jolla, California, USA May 7, 2006 (500 ml bottle: $2.59 at Hollingshead Deli in Orange, CA) Second attempt with this beer, so hopefully it’s fresher and more enjoyable. This beer pours a translucent, glowing, golden-amber color, but the fizzy, off-white head dissipates rapidly, leaving just a small ring as proof of its existence. Quite a lot of sweet banana, spice and wheat in the nose. Wheat malts are the most prevalent in the flavor, with banana, apples and cloves showing less presence. I thought a previous bottle of this was off because of the light apple, but maybe that’s just the way it is. Fairly sweet in general, and the wheat shows a touch of breadiness, and as the temperature of beer increases, so too does the breadiness, but enough to cause me any distress. Medium-full bodied and well-carbonated, but tiring out the palate as the beer warms up. Definitely one of the better imported Dunkelweizens I’ve had the opportunity to try, but Ayinger usually is near the top of the heap with most everything I try of theirs. sersdf (1000), chicago, Illinois, USA May 6, 2006 i loved this beer. a bit too much head for my quite-mildly aggressive pour. a hefe in color/opacity, but several shades darker. it smelled like overripe bananas and bubblelicious. the taste was close to that. extremely sweet. i remember wondering if it was the most caloric non-RIS i’d ever had it is so sweet. i’m really growing into german wheat/summer beers, and this is exemplary. dyetube (397), Dallas, Texas, USA May 2, 2006 This beer pours a cloudy dark yellow color with a large white head. It has a very zesty smell and flavor! This is a great summer beer! Cheers! Eyedrinkale (3209), Astoria, New York, USA Apr 23, 2006 Bottle, poured into Ayinger glass. Explosive, white head dominates the glass, leaving only an inch or two for beer. Gold color with aroma of bubblegum and yeasty banana. Extra smooth body, almost creamy. Fruits are peach and apple. Other than the texture theres not much thats memorable about this.
