Bready aroma. Chewy sweetness with evident wheat flavor. Body is slightly thin, but still a very smooth drink. SaintArnold1977 (26), Houston, Texas, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 30, 2005 Pours a cloudy brown with thin white head. Smells of clove and dark fruit. Taste much the same with dark fruit up front and clove in the background. Very carbonated and a bit chewy. A solid brew but for the style try New Glarus Black Wheat. tennisjoel (937), Shakopee, Minnesota, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 24, 2005 Lovely aroma of banana and cloves. Cloudy orange with an average white head which is long lasting. Taste is banana mainly with some other fruits going on as well. Bready flavor, a little light. Maybe the only complaint here is that the carbonation could be a little much. Otherwise a decent brew from the Germans. Good for enjoying on a hot and sunny day. The end was even better after rolling to get the sediment emptied. jbrus (4842), Delft, Netherlands

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 9, 2005 From Fancy Grocery, NYC. Huge, creamy, off-white head that lasts forever. Muddy brown color and undying carbonated fizziness. Loads of fruit aromas: bananna, pear, pineapple, along with a light hop perfume. Cola, pepper, bread, and a slight solvent smell there too. Very complex and intriguing. Flavor a little dissapointing in comparison: caramel predominates, especially once the extreme fizziness dies down a bit. Very long, dry, bitter finish with a yeasty bite. Chewy, chalky palate. I’m a big fan of Ayinger’s beers, but this one was a bit of a let down. Could have been an old bottle.
