Lighter in color than most dunkelweizens. Aroma is light banana, hints of green apple and clove, along with nice bready hints form the yeast and malt. Flavor is slightly nutty, with hints of roast, but is moslty wheat followed by some fruity esters. Overall, this is very subdued and subtle, but very well done. Smooth and creamy palate, whith jsut a slight graininess. Papsoe (14841), Frederiksberg, Denmark

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 22, 2005 Bottled. Orangebrown hazy colour, huge creamy head. Sweet bananaish malty flavour with wheat also being present. Strong wheat and malt in flavour. Sweet fruit and a bit hops in finish, a bit bananaish aftertaste. lamas (715), Adams Morgan, Washington DC, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 2/5 | 17/20 | Aug 20, 2005 500mL bottle. Label is slightly different than that in the picture. A murky iced-tea brown pour with a thick, fizzy tan head. Wheaty, lemony/banana, yeasty aroma with plenty of sweet malts underneath. Carbonation is very high and definitely detracts from the taste. It’s still very apparent that this is a delightfully well-balanced beer. Ample sweet, bready malts compliment the wheat and yeasty tanginess throughout. There are hints of apple pie filling in the aroma and taste. Dixen (1465), Flagstaff, Arizona, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 9, 2005 Yeasty nose, but weaker than Brau Weisse. Copper to orange colored body, cloudy, medium white head. Malty flavor, with some banana and yeast flavors. TheBeerGod (3147), Newport News, Virginia, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 7, 2005 Bottle. Pours hazed amber with an enormous manilla colored head. Very elegant looking and definitely "attractive". Nose is bananas, wheat, yeast, some strawberry notes, light bubblegummy esters, minimal spiciness, and sweet malts. Taste is nice as well. Rich fruits, banana, light candyish notes, spices, sweet maltiness, light yeast, and wheat. Medium bodied and slightly effervescent. Refreshing and at times bordering on creamy. Finishes as well as it began. Light bubblegum, bananas, ripened fruits, light wheat, yeast, light spices, and sweet malts. Pigfoot (2226), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 6, 2005 Lovely hazed magenta, soft cocoa, with a lovely, light layer of foam atop. Excellent look for the style.
Aroma: Ahhhh! this is dunkel weizen! Clove is huge, and banana behind it, with traces of grapes and melons and berries, too...a beautiful mix, really, and the sort of thing you only find in beers of this kind. Reminds me of why I like the style so much. Masterful.
Taste: mmmm...there’s a lot to talk about...bubblegum, banana, spices, clove, dark fruits, ...but still quaffably refreshing!
An excellently sessionable brew, you can take several in all night long,
classic representation of the style.
Tasty, and quenching...gotta love it!
Lightish body, lightly spicy finish, rich and delicious.
Loveable mouthfeel, lushly carbonated, great flavor, wondrous drinkability. Class act, all the way.

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 28, 2005 Call me a generous rater or just think of me as a sucker, but i love an aroma that is as full and natural as this brew right here. It has a strong presence of banana and wheat while also giving a fresh bubblegum aroma. It’s almost like i just stuck my nose in one of those nickel gum ball machines. To bad the flavor isn’t as plump and sheer as the aroma had promised. The little minor descriptions of flavor start off with a mellow use of grain and semi bittering hop, while a ever present bubble gum and banana flavor is the most note worthy feature. Hints of clove, and other spice used as well as a squeeze of lemon too. Appearance is a dark auburn orange color with a thick murky haze while a thin coated head rest on top.
