Commercial Description:
Our Ayinger Ur-Weisse is an old-fashioned wheat with some fine roasted malt to give it more color and flavor than golden hefe- weisse. It has an immense crown of lovely foam held proudly above a robe of translucent amber. On the palate, malt and yeast predominate, with a delicious balance of fruit and bread-like yeast. The taste is complex, with suggestions of soft fruit, apple, and, in the finish, perhaps, even cloves.

Body appears to be a brown to a dirty straw in color with lots of haziness throughout, no matter how hard I tried I couldn’t get a cap to produce I must of done something wrong when I read all the other reviews and they all had huge head. Tons of bubbles are making their way to the top of my glass it looks nice just too bad none are sticking around to produce any head. Aroma is mild but tasty; banana chips, muffins, and vanilla are about the only thing I detect but this simple smell is nice. Mouth feel is medium bodied and heavily carbonated. Very sweet flavor that’s malty and rich, banana is at the very front of the flavor followed by fresh baking, a mild sourness shows when the beer warms but is still acceptable. Very simple clean drinking beer that is highly enjoyable.

Golden copper pour into thick, pillowy white head that quicly dissipates into a pool of bubbly foam on top of the glass. Carbonated bubbles rise into a ring of melting lacing. Aroma of malt, yeasty bread and hint of apples. Initial flavor of sweet malt with brief hints of apple pie and spice in the finish.

Bottle. Enjoyed this beer thoroughly. Had this in the beginning of introduction to craft beer. Tasted like a hefeweizen with more to it.

Bottle - pours brownish yellow and very hazy. Solid beige head. Flavors of toasted grains, banana, bread, and a slight hint of cloves and coriander. Felt and tasted like a complex wheat, which isn’t very common. Very good beer with a solid mouthfeel.

Pours hazy peach with billowing beige head and lively carbonation. Aroma is of grapefruit, lemon, clove, and a touch of nutmeg. Very pronounced and complex. Flavor strikes a most excellent balance of malty sweetness, a welcomed hop backbone, and a throughly complex and pronounced spice aspect. Caramel, brown sugar and toffee give way to a subtle and caressing citrus character, and finally a delicious addition of clove and coriander. Palate is thick, smooth and full, allowing for a sugary coating followed by a slight dryness. Delicious.

Bread, caramel and pit fruit in the nose to the nth power. Golden amber hue with a creamy carbonated head that was gone far too soon. Caramel, molasses, ripe banana and apple with a light touch of cloves in the finish. Creamy and gently lively finished. A well crafted beer, hard to beat for the price.
