Commercial Description:
Our Ayinger Ur-Weisse is an old-fashioned wheat with some fine roasted malt to give it more color and flavor than golden hefe- weisse. It has an immense crown of lovely foam held proudly above a robe of translucent amber. On the palate, malt and yeast predominate, with a delicious balance of fruit and bread-like yeast. The taste is complex, with suggestions of soft fruit, apple, and, in the finish, perhaps, even cloves.

Straw-orange color, lively carbonation, and slight haze. Aroma of flowers, grass, lemon, and yeast. Some sourness with an orange/lemon flavor and slightly sweet. Seems to lack the complexity that some German Wheats can bring.

Thanks to Ross for the pour. Cloudy brown color. Wheat and malt on the nose. Same body with a yeasty bite.

Bottle. Dark malt and murky yeast aroma with faint hints of sweet banana. Cloudy amber-brown pour with a sticky white head. Lightly acidic with citrus and lots of wheat. Fruity with caramel and dark malt. Medium body is crisp and spicy, dry and spicy finish. Very light green apple. Manages to be mild and muddy while avoiding typical DW staleness. Great balanced example of the style!

Pours orange-brown, with a creamy off-white ring of foam. Sweet banana aroma. Nice banana, and yes, apple in the flavor in addition to tangy flavors. A nice change of pace for the new year.

Cloudy orange out of the bottle with a sweet, burnt caramel nose. Dark fruit sweetness with raisen, prune and apricot. Full bodied caramel sweetness with subtle hints of a weizen banana clove spiciness, but mostly sweet.
