Wonderful sweetness with great clove spiciness and a refreshing acidity. Zesty and refreshing, finishing with some green apples tones. Great flavor but not the total package. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 6, 2004 Good classic HefeWeizen beer. Hazy deep yellow color and a stiff head. The aromas were a little subdued, but these beers don't age well, so I suspect a fresher sample would score higher. The banana/ wheat aroma is there, but very slight from what I would expect. Refreshing and somewhat filling. A good Summer beer. SHIG (2037), Aviano, Italy
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | May 18, 2007 Bottle: Wow reddish brown but not really, the color is so mystical to me, the off white cream head was just topping on this cake. The aroma of wheat and fruit is wonderful. The taste is roasted malt and fruit that bites at the taste buds. This has to be one of my favorite German beers. I cannot imagine why this is not closer to a 4 on the scale! patrick767 (2033), fort wayne, Indiana, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 25, 2006 500 ml bottle - Pours a cloudy amber with a thin head and a very good aroma of yeast and citrus. The flavor matches the aroma with moderate malt sweetness as well. Unfortunately the body is too thin. I found watery. Definitely let this one warm up some. It was much too bland and watery right out of the fridge, but was notably improved later on. The beer goes down easy and doesn’t linger. It’s fairly good, but thus far I prefer the other three Ayinger beers that I’ve tried. Indra (2028), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 25, 2007 From 500mL bottle--Poured a medium brown-golden body with a medium-sized white head. Mild fruity complexity that exhibits a nice balance of yeast, malt, wheat, alcohol and hops. Bready and yeasty. Highly carbonated, but finished proper. Well-balanced, exceptional beer. cheapdark (2017), Monacatootha, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Nov 11, 2006 Updated: Jul 11, 2008OK, I’ve been waiting for this for a while, cause I had to save up to purchase it. Got it today at 3 Sons, Wexford. Upon opening, the aroma’s clean and not too detectable but does have a hint of yest in the background. In my poor steeler stein, it pours almost like American wheat but more sophisticated. Beautifully delicious creamy taste with no insulting tones what so ever. Finish is just great! Perhaps the perfect beer except for the price.
