Commercial Description:
Our Ayinger Ur-Weisse is an old-fashioned wheat with some fine roasted malt to give it more color and flavor than golden hefe- weisse. It has an immense crown of lovely foam held proudly above a robe of translucent amber. On the palate, malt and yeast predominate, with a delicious balance of fruit and bread-like yeast. The taste is complex, with suggestions of soft fruit, apple, and, in the finish, perhaps, even cloves.

1/2 l bottle. Cloudy orange yellow, nice white head. Not as dark as one would want or expect. Malty aroma, clove and a touch of banana. Smooth malty flavor, clove and banana. Nice even carbonation. Well made brew, not quite a dunkelweizen, but a decent weizen none-the-less.

Extreme cloudiness. Bread pudding colored pour with some bubbles.. .totally opaque with a medium white sudsy head. Smells great, like a hefe but with a little bit of nuttiness to balance out that banana sweetness. Palate is extremely light... unbelievable for how thick and sticky it looks. The carbonation sizzles a little bit, really interesting. Sticky toffee flavor, lots of clove, some yeast, very strange finish... like fresh squeezed apples.

Color is a cloudy haze of brownish gold with a large loose head of puffed creamy foam that ever so slowly simmers to a light haze on top and has drippy lace in large stringy patches. The smell of this thing is very lively, wow, its all over the place, funky as hell, smokey banana and smoked salmon or bacon, dull lemon, musty horse blanket, soft rubber, and feet. Yep, its funky and pungent and I love it. I need this in a insense form so I can light one and let the whole place smell like this. People would wonder what the hell I'm I cookin' or smokin'. I'd be great. Taste is soft and mellow of banana and frothy malts, touch of lemon and clove, sweetness is light, citrus is flighty with a light but favorable carbonation with a mellow, nearly creamy medium body with a little touch of hop and dryness with clove hints in the finish. The yeast is showcased in this beer quite a bit, especailly in the smell, but with that aside its one fine easy drinkin' dunkel.

Not a whole lot of banana aroma; it’s more citrusy, but the banana really comes through in the flavor. Nice bready finish.

Bottle. Deep copper in color with the usual cloudiness of a wheat beer. Aroma is fruity (specially banana). Flavor is fresh with the same bananas coming through and finishes with a slight wheat taste at the back of the throat.

Pour is a cloudy orange brown with a nice one finger head that has fair retention. The aroma of fruit jumps from the glass. It is a nice mix of apricot, peach, and prune. The flavor is also fruit dominated with yeast, malt. Cloves appear late. Smooth, tasty, and aromatic. Delightful!

17 oz bottle. Foggy orange straw with expected Mister Frostee head. Rising bread with lemon dishrag and banana. Initially sour lagerish. Raw dough, cloves, bananas in the end. Prickly carb, medium body.

Brown ice tea-like color, nice head. Yeasty and very fruity nose, very appetizing. Yeasty flavors, light citrusy/wheaty notes. Every beer i’ve had by this brewery is good, nice work.
