Commercial Description:
Our Ayinger Ur-Weisse is an old-fashioned wheat with some fine roasted malt to give it more color and flavor than golden hefe- weisse. It has an immense crown of lovely foam held proudly above a robe of translucent amber. On the palate, malt and yeast predominate, with a delicious balance of fruit and bread-like yeast. The taste is complex, with suggestions of soft fruit, apple, and, in the finish, perhaps, even cloves.

500ml-17 oz bottle-pours an off white head with a cloudy orange-brown color. Aroma is fruity-pear-banana? Taste is banana, musty, bread with good carbonation, then cinnamon and peppery fill in-very much like Smuttynose Saison.

Forever lasting white head thrones above the delicate pure amber body. Initially seemingly simple nose: yeasty bananas and cashew nuts. It just grows on you and boasts a great palate, full, creamy with the finest bubbled carbonation, smooth and delicate. Plenty of ripe fruits (Bananas with a capital B, berries, pomegranate, orange, apricots) accompany the perfumey and bready yeast, elegant in itself and unveiling traces of cloves and even rye or grilled marshmallow sweetness rather than straight caramel. Good stuff, very malty, extremely clean with a confident balance. One of the most quaffable (while being pleasant) products I’ve encountered. Thanks Clark!

This beer rocks. Read the commercial description; it describes this beer to a tee.

Foam spewed from the bottle upon opening. Pours a cloudy copper with sufficient head. Dark malty aroma with floral noble hops. Pleasantly mild with a touch of banana clove spice toward the finish. A good German wheat even though it required some cleaning up.

Small yellow head; orange amber beer, very slight haze. Clovey nose, and some coloured malts; Fruity esters, some banana, citrus... Again fruity-estery, sweet oranges and even apricot in the taste. Wheaty sourishness lends some body going over in classic wheat slickness. Good, not really a Dunkel, more an amber; good basic Hefeweizen.

Bottled. Hazy orange coloured. Huge aroma of overripe bananas. Sweet and yeasty banana flavour. Thin finish.
