| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 1, 2007 Rated 12/30/06: Lightest dunkel weizen I’ve sampled but it’s no slouch. Rich yeasty aroma very nice and fruity with some mild spice, mostly banana and clove but there’s some lemon and orange worked in there. Murky deep orange pour with some slight copper coloring, huge wheat head (as to be expected), and mild lacing. Mouthfeel was on the thin side, but a creamy finish evened it out to average at best. Good welcoming flavor of mild banana and spice. German wheats are a wonderful thing and Ayinger makes some fine examples. Beardface (1018), Eugene, Oregon, USA

Pours out a hazy amber with a big white head and minimal lacing. Aroma of banana, clove, apples. Flavor is wheat with banana, clove, apples thrown in. There’s a crisp snap to this beer, very effervescent. Definitely enjoyed this one quite a bit. pintbypint (1008), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 8, 2007 500ml brown bottle. Pours hazy orange/amber like the colour of an oktoberfest. Head was huge upon first pour - 3 or 4 fingers high at least. Quite foamy and fluffy, it eventually settled down to a respectable half inch in size and stayed there for msot of the glass. Little lacing. Aroma was on the sweet side. Primiarily clove and some lemon, with fruity banana and apple notes. Flavour was wheat malts, some caramel malt sweetness and banana. Yeasty dry end. Body was light, slightly thin. Crisp, quick carbonation. pnista (1008), Bloomington, Indiana, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 31, 2007 Pours a hazy burnt umber sort of amber with a healthy, though diminishing white head. The nose is hef all the way. Banana, a little lemon, definitely sweet, definitely some wheat. Yeasty apples. A little fizzy in the mouth, but decent mouthfeel, despite a thinness. Drinkable, which is the style in one word. The flavors are a cut below the aroma. Banana is obvious, obviously. Some wheaty apple sort of notes come out. Sweet up front, very dry finish. Clear aftertaste, but there’s just not enough there for me. kkearn (1007), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 23, 2007 bottle. Hazy dark amber with a thick off-white head. Wheat, yeast and spice dominate the aroma. Sweet flavor, with banana, clove, yeast, and spice. Very active carbonation. Very refreshing. erway (1002), Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jun 17, 2002 I must say that I am surprised that ratings aren’t higher for this. I thought it was a phenominal wheat, possibly the best I’ve had. The bread of the earth taste hits the tongue and subtle hops and cloves gives it a beautiful finish. A better malt character gives this beer a greater roundness that most wheats just don’t have. This is not my favorite style but I was very impressed by this beer.
