I thought it was a phenominal wheat, possibly the best I’ve had. The bread of the earth taste hits the tongue and subtle hops and cloves gives it a beautiful finish. A better malt character gives this beer a greater roundness that most wheats just don’t have. This is not my favorite style but I was very impressed by this beer. Not as dark as i was expecting. There flavor is nice and estery, bubblegum and bananas, also some nice toasted bread. A very excellent dunkelweizen. Somewhat of a tangy aftertaste. sersdf (1000), chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 2/5 | 16/20 | May 6, 2006 i loved this beer. a bit too much head for my quite-mildly aggressive pour. a hefe in color/opacity, but several shades darker. it smelled like overripe bananas and bubblelicious. the taste was close to that. extremely sweet. i remember wondering if it was the most caloric non-RIS i’d ever had it is so sweet. i’m really growing into german wheat/summer beers, and this is exemplary. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 17, 2006 From Bottle. Pours a hazy orange with medium head and carbonation that dissapates quickly. Yeasty bread aroma. Bread flavor with a dry hop finish. Not a bad brew. Panzuriel (993), Westerville, Ohio, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 4, 2004 Nose: LOTS of bubblegum with small hints of banana, no cloves to speak of. Pour is a cloudy red-brown with disappating off-white fluffy head. Hints of chocolate, wheat, plummy malt, and banana in the flavor, with a sticky lip-smacking finish. Somehow manages to be cloying and bland at the same time. Okay, but the helles-weisse is better. kidmartinek (988), austin, Texas, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 17, 2008 One word, delicious. Pours light copper, only slightly cloudy, but mostly see through. Head is huge 3 inches plus, and settles down to an inch or so. Head is very thick and frothy. Aroma of medium wheat malt, and dark banana, and dry lemon/orange peel. Flavor is fizzy, wheat malty, but light, and has notes of apple, banana, vanilla, and clove. Finish is full flavored, body is medium. Aftertaste is clean. Another great beer from Aying. urbnhautebourg (974), Annapolis, Maryland, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 4, 2003 I am more of a fan of regular hefeweizen than dunkelweizen, but this one is such a standout example of the latter. So much going on here--no flavor is out of the ordinary, but there is just so MUCH here. Wonderful.
