Apr 1, 2007 Aroma was of sweet malt and yeast.Pours a cloudy orange/brown with a medium off white head.Caramel malt and yeast stood out in the flavor.Medium mouthfeel with a very sweet caramel finish.

Jun 23, 2009 Poured out a thick and creamy light tan crown with nice retention and splotchy lacing. The aroma is strong but not overpowering with banana bread, cloves and pink bubblegum. The flavour is really well put together with more banana bread and cloves, weak but rich malts and an underlying shortlived bitterness. Medium bodied with lots and lots of carbonation (not annoying), not really all that smooth for mouthfeel but there is obvious tartness throughout. Finishes fairly dry. Just picked up a caramel note? Well done although I’ll still take a non-banana bomb Hefe over it.

Aug 17, 2004 Cloudy orange with floating yeast and a foamy white head. Smells like spices and cloves, very pleasant. Tastes: malt, banana, clove, spices. The malt is great in this offering. Another rock solid from Ayinger.

Aug 14, 2009 Pours a murky, dark orange-straw into the glass, with an initial lavish head that reduces to a thin cap. The nose has huge banana aromas... quite dominant. Some pear flavors upfront, maybe hints at Granny Smith apples. Yeast follows in the mid-palate (very fruit-bready), with a crisp, brisk finish that culminates spices and reinstates banana. The body is light, and the mouthfeel is soda-esque, with lively carbonation. A nice dunkelweisse!

Dec 9, 2008 500 mL bottle, poured into a weizen glass. Orangish amber color, nice haze, thick beige head. Aroma is standard banana and clove, with a hint of lemon and caramel. Flavor is bananas, vanilla, egg nog, and clove. Similar notes to most other dunkelweizens but it is not fitting together quite right for me compared to the elite versions of the style. Good creamy mouthfeel and good drinkability.

Oct 7, 2004 A nice tasty little dunkelweizen from Ayinger. I would never say this could be my favorite dunkel, but I would definitely buy this again. Worth a try (or two)

Apr 14, 2008 Pours a cloudy brown with yellow tints (apple cider-ish) with a thick off white head.
Aroma was wheat, banana and yeast.
Flavour was a malty-wheat with a nice fruity backing. Certainly enjoyable.

Nov 14, 2002 i didn’t do this justice in my original rating. powerful banana aroma with a little bit peach. great nose. head is so thick, an aboslute mountain. The beer strugles to break through the head. I could just look and smell this for days. Smooth carbonation, just perfect. Lightly toasted, like putting your toaster on the lightest setting when toasting generic white bread and the bread comes out still white. very sweet and oh so refreshing. apples. i can’t get over the head on this. High school sluts should take notes.
