Nov 10, 2002 Malty, banana, yeasty aroma. Pours a cloudy amber color with a big, rocky head. Very malty and I detect a little bit of clove flavoring in the finish. Nice wheat beer.

Jun 4, 2004 Super cloudy orange/brown color, fizzy off white head, great aroma like tart cider, very carbonated, creamy mouthfeel, banana, dull hop bitters, very refreshing on the first hot day of summer, just like caribou rides.

Mar 26, 2004 Pours darker than any weisse I've had so far. Head dissipates quickly, but enough remains to be attractive. Strong malt aroma with some wheat evident. Interesting taste. Strong malt/wheat taste up front. Some bananna, bread, yeast maybe pear come at me the strongest before the finish. Finish is clean. A surpsingly complex weiss. Damn near as good as weihenstephaner in my opinion.

Oct 10, 2006 I was surprised this poured rather clear. However it still looked very nice. I smelled quite a bit of banana, along with some bread, and spices. Tasted a bit nuttier at first, but then I start noticing the fruit qualities. Finishes fairly apple-y, but there’s still a pleasant nuttiness to this. This beer made my mouth pucker a bit. Very good, well-balanced flavors, but a little thin feeling.

Mar 2, 2002 Hazy ot quite copper. Suspended yeast particles throughout with nice head. Nose of bananas, spices and maybe apple. Soft, lively and almost creamy in the mouth. Flavors of cloves,spice,apples, and yeast. Maybe a tad too sweet? Pretty good and quite quaffable.

Apr 9, 2009 Bottle as shown. Pours a hazy copper golden with a large frothy white head that diminshes quickly. A lot of carbonation and good sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is banana wheat and yeast. Easy to drink with a fruity taste with banana and light clove. A good dunkel from Ayinger.
