Commercial Description:
Our Ayinger Ur-Weisse is an old-fashioned wheat with some fine roasted malt to give it more color and flavor than golden hefe- weisse. It has an immense crown of lovely foam held proudly above a robe of translucent amber. On the palate, malt and yeast predominate, with a delicious balance of fruit and bread-like yeast. The taste is complex, with suggestions of soft fruit, apple, and, in the finish, perhaps, even cloves.

Bottle 52F Weizen, Slighty sweet aroma, but mostly dominated by light yeast smells, very light aroma, slight esters very slight. Pour with a thick light beige head, it is a dark copper cloudy color, with a few dark specks floating inside the glass, decent retention leaves a lasting tan ring. Taste of yeast, with a touch of cinammon, flavor of bannana, fruity finish yet leaves the mouth fairly dry, just a touch of spice, no real notice of malts, well maybe just subtly, very subtly. Good carbonation on the tongue, but a bit light in the mouth, I was expecting just a bit more mouthfeel. Plenty of carbontion and it pricks my tongue all over. There are plenty some good sour notes as one examines it longer, mostly yeast flavor, not as complex as I had hoped for, but still easily drinkable.

Yow. So good. By far the best wheat beer I’ve had. Intense flavor, with lots or fruit, clove, a bit of spice, mild german hops, and a bit of roasted malt. Lots of flavors to pick out. Dark color with a beautiful thick head. Very smooth, very satisfying, I could live with drinking only this for the rest of my life, if I had to.

Bottle at Novare Res. Pours a golden yellow with a huge frothy head. The aroma is biscuity and very orange-like, smells like someone peeled an orange and banana in this beer. The flavor isn’t fruity at all, sweet malt, bready, and pretty nice, but simple. This was pretty neat.

Body appears to be a brown to a dirty straw in color with lots of haziness throughout, no matter how hard I tried I couldn’t get a cap to produce I must of done something wrong when I read all the other reviews and they all had huge head. Tons of bubbles are making their way to the top of my glass it looks nice just too bad none are sticking around to produce any head. Aroma is mild but tasty; banana chips, muffins, and vanilla are about the only thing I detect but this simple smell is nice. Mouth feel is medium bodied and heavily carbonated. Very sweet flavor that’s malty and rich, banana is at the very front of the flavor followed by fresh baking, a mild sourness shows when the beer warms but is still acceptable. Very simple clean drinking beer that is highly enjoyable.

Pours cloudy brown with a huge head that fades very slowly. Aroma is of a strong hay and wheat with some banana. Flavor is wheat then caramel and banana, and a slight spice. Flavor is nice.

500 ml bottle. Pours a cloudy, brownish-yellow color, not particularly attractive. Big, expansive head. Aroma of over-ripe bananas. The taste is predominantly sweet banana with undertones of other fruit and wheat. Pretty heavy carbonation. Well-made, but not my personal favorite.

A nice dunkelweisse. Typical bananas, cloves, and spice. Good balance and very smooth. Ayinger does a good job, and this is one of my favorite dunkels.

Bottle. Poured a creamy tannish colour with a similiar coloured head. Bread on the nose with some spice. Flavor is malty wheat, some not so dry dried fruit and an unusual "buzzy" mouthfeel. This was somewhat disappointing as I was expecting more from this one, but all in all not bad either. Thanks to Secret Santa (Juy) for the bottle.
