Commercial Description:
Our Ayinger Ur-Weisse is an old-fashioned wheat with some fine roasted malt to give it more color and flavor than golden hefe- weisse. It has an immense crown of lovely foam held proudly above a robe of translucent amber. On the palate, malt and yeast predominate, with a delicious balance of fruit and bread-like yeast. The taste is complex, with suggestions of soft fruit, apple, and, in the finish, perhaps, even cloves.

Lots of banana and biscuits, some cloves, light citrus, a tiny bit of indecipherable background fruit. Not much else. A very good German wheat beer.

Dry, large head, high carbonation, medium body, dark amber color. Taste very clean and crisp, subtle flavors of carmel, banana, citrus fruit, spice (clove?). Excellent.

Pours very cloudy murky deep copper/light amber. Nice frothy off white head. Lighter in color than most dunkelweizens. Aroma is light banana, hints of green apple and clove, along with nice bready hints form the yeast and malt. Flavor is slightly nutty, with hints of roast, but is moslty wheat followed by some fruity esters. Overall, this is very subdued and subtle, but very well done. Smooth and creamy palate, whith jsut a slight graininess.

Hazy ot quite copper. Suspended yeast particles throughout with nice head. Nose of bananas, spices and maybe apple. Soft, lively and almost creamy in the mouth. Flavors of cloves, spice, apples, and yeast. Maybe a tad too sweet? Pretty good and quite quaffable.

Light amber color.medium head small amount of staying power but not much.Malty, yeast aromasome what spicy, and in some small way a little bread like as the description say's but very mildly.Malty taste, spicy, well hopped, with some over ripe tones of fruit like possibly apple but more like pear IMO with some lite olive tones to it as well.Over all it's a pretty decent brew and well worth thebucks to get more.

A nice dunkelweisse. Typical bananas, cloves, and spice. Good balance and very smooth. Ayinger does a good job, and this is one of my favorite dunkels.
