Commercial Description:
Our Ayinger Ur-Weisse is an old-fashioned wheat with some fine roasted malt to give it more color and flavor than golden hefe- weisse. It has an immense crown of lovely foam held proudly above a robe of translucent amber. On the palate, malt and yeast predominate, with a delicious balance of fruit and bread-like yeast. The taste is complex, with suggestions of soft fruit, apple, and, in the finish, perhaps, even cloves.

banana aroma with deep roast is reminiscent of banana bread without the spice. deep malt flavor accentuates the softer edges. great.

Pours hazy peach with billowing beige head and lively carbonation. Aroma is of grapefruit, lemon, clove, and a touch of nutmeg. Very pronounced and complex. Flavor strikes a most excellent balance of malty sweetness, a welcomed hop backbone, and a throughly complex and pronounced spice aspect. Caramel, brown sugar and toffee give way to a subtle and caressing citrus character, and finally a delicious addition of clove and coriander. Palate is thick, smooth and full, allowing for a sugary coating followed by a slight dryness. Delicious.

Smells of sour mash and sweet malted wheat. I didn’t think any one beer could fill my Two Pound (32oz) beer glass to the top with foam......but this did. Sweet and fruity with just enough grain and wine flavors to make it a good wheat beer.

500ml bottle. Beautiful pour--deep bright cloudy amber--with a foamy off-white head. A treat to look at. Yeast and malt on the nose, with mild fruit (banana, apricot maybe) and a sense of fresh-baked sourdough bread. Similar palate... tickling bubbles on the upper lip and tastes of slightly underripe bananas, fresh bread, yeast. Clean and easy to drink, with a surprisingly crisp finish. I actually wanted a bit of a lingering aftertaste, but almost none is present. Subtle but solid. May cause some to think there’s not much too this beer, but I give it props for its understatement.

Caramel red orange with a smooth off white foam. Big banana, bubblegum aroma, hidden cloves, sweet caramels, butterscotch. Taste is lots of caramel, bananas, fruit, light finishing grassy, spicy note.

Bottle into Weiss glass. Pours a very hazy copper-brown, with a nice fluffy head that settles down into a creamy off-white cap. Nose is dry and yeasty, banana and cloves come through. taste is quite nice - yeasty up front, a bit dry, banana, moves to a sweet graham cracker and vanilla pudding note that hints at cocoa, while still maintaining the signature crisp, light, airy palate of a wheat beer. Finish is light and clean. Mouthfeel is light, crisp. Very nice beer.

Pours a very pretty hazy brown with a thick whiteish head...banana aromas come off this beer...the palate is very similar to the standard hefe...banana flavor and some yeast...very tastey, my first of the style that i will have to explore...This would be the most popular beer at my local bar if they had it on tap

Pours a dark orange with a large off white head. Aroma of sweet malts and citrus. Flavor of malts, yeast, and orange. Medium body. Great beer.
