Smells like banana bread, some milk chocolate notes. Bananas are all over flavor, too. Nutty. Very nice, slightly sour finishing acidity. Some fresh, grassy bite, mostly just deliciously malty. Very nice, as are most Ayinger beers. ztrvz (218), st paul, Minnesota, USA

I would never say this could be my favorite dunkel, but I would definitely buy this again. Worth a try (or two) sstackho (249), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Freshness unknown. An interesting pour into a weisse glass. Started off light, getting much darker as the bottom of the bottle was poured in. Although I swished the end of the bottle lots to shake up the sediment, there were still numerous chunks in the glass... so I stirred it with a spoon! My first time ever doing that. The end product is a cloudy grey-gold. Medium aroma of a typical weisse - yeast, banana and bubblegum. Taste is solid. Quite yeasty, which gives it a bit more of a spicy character perhaps than some other weisses.

Philip was generous enough to grab this for me, for an in person trade. I’ll drink this in a toast to his generosity. This bottle poured a very cloudy and murky deep amber/brown body, capped my a lucious and creamy foamy cap. In the nose, sweet banana is the main contender. Also in the ring arespicy cloves, and an underlying bready aroma. Flavours consist of sweet fruit and clove, apple pastries, and just a tad of a bitter bite. Smooth finish, with a slight fruity bite that lingers. This style keeps me wanting more. Many thanks again to Philip for the opportunity! Dough77 (779), Aurora, Illinois, USA

Aroma is very yeasty, as well as malty, some spice notes team up with a mild fruitiness making for a solid nose. Flavor is spice, banana, yeast, doughy. Goes down nice, making for quite a pleasent experience. Lumpy (1802), Carrollton, Texas, USA

Dusty citric nose that is quite earthy and malty. Taste-apple, clove, candied banana, doughy, yeasty, juicy fruit gum, fruity esters, cantaloupe, and wheat. Takes a few sips for the full flavors to develop and open up, but it is quite enjoyable. The wheat doesn’t overrun the flavor profile-it accompanies the candy notes. This would be just excellent with a huge plate of sausages and kraut. mustang3 (254), Whitby, Canada

Good hit of bananas up front with bready undertones and texture. The finish is lightly spicy with a different fruitiness. The mouthfeel improves as the carbonation fades.
