May 10, 2006 Light brown in color with a great foamy white head. Citrus and clove aroma. Hints of raosted malts offset by the excellent yeast. Easy drinking dunkel weiss.

May 1, 2009 Amazing rocky meringue-like head on this dark amber, hazy colored dunkelweizen. Extraordinarily aromatic too with traditional banana-clove, together with some soft caramel-toffee notes. Fresh bread & yeast is apparent also. Palate is smooth, creamy texture with sufficient carbonation, a soft malt component, and gently spiced in there as well.

Sep 11, 2007 500 ml bottle, poured into a german hefe glass. just a little darker than ayinger’s hefe, almost looks like apple cider with a nice white head if poured properly. a little more complex than the hefe, but that taste is not that different. a truly wonderful beer for late summer/early fall drinking. very drinkable.

Mar 13, 2007 Bottle. Pour is hazy brown / orange with a pillowy white head. Took quite some time for the head to settle. Aroma is malt, yeast and wheat. Some sweetness too, but smooth. Initial taste is a malt and wheat, balanced perfectly. Finish is the sweetness and a nice bitter. Extremely drinkable, reminds me why I love well made German beers.

Jul 13, 2002 To me, this is better than the other dark wheats I’ve tried, because it isn’t just banana - lots of spice here (RERATE: and then I tried the Aventinus, heh. Still great, just not the best). Rerate 7/13/02: Had another bottle of this; I’ve been drinking a lot of different Hefes recently. While I still like this beer very much, my very positive first impression has been tempered by more experience with German wheats.

Jan 25, 2004 Orange with a metallic hue and massive head that initially cascades like a waterfall but soon settles into a strong and still top. This is smooth and sweet with primarily banana tones. Nice.
