Dec 21, 2005 An almost-tan head took a lifetime to settle over a dense, murky, brownish/copper-wheat body. Yeast particulate is diverse, from the silt that forms the haze to plastery chunks at the bottom, with little sea-monkeys bobbing about at mid-level. As far as the aroma, ’smoked banana’ smells much better than you’d imagine. Add to that roasted corn husks, clove, licorice and a touch of crawlspace (musty, earthen, moldiness). Flavor captures the hefeweizen essence of the aromas and sets it upon a substantially malted body... which gives a nice, hearty impression of a chocolate-covered banana. Thick, full-bodied and flavorful, with a creaminess in the mouth, it’s with beers like this that I can justify why ’Dunkelweizen’ is currently my favorite style.

Jul 30, 2008 Yeasty rich aroma of bananas, caramel and nuts. Malty with a soft palate. Lots of fruit notes: dried apples, banana and pomegranate and wheat. Soft velvety mouthfeel. Yummers. God I love a good Dunkel.

Mar 17, 2007 Golden color with creamy white head.
Aroma is banana and spaciy, but not so strong. Mouthfeel is very smooth. Flavor is very nice: fruty, complex and great body. A little more bitter than general wheat beer.

Jul 20, 2008 Pours a cloudy caramel with a thick eggshell head. Aroma is sweet and citrusy. Flavor is lucious. Sweet and malty wheat-citrus flavor. Delicious. Light and refreshing, yet full-flavored. Hints of apple, fig, and maybe some pear. Delicious.

Oct 17, 2009 A delicious banana, clove wheat beer. The beer is a shade of burnt orange with a lot of haze and a creamy head. Aroma is mostly banana with good wheat spice. Flavor is same with citric note. Feel is properly well-carbonated. This is a very good wheat beer and one of the few that I would put up with Weihenstephan’s lineup.

Jul 22, 2008 One of my favorite German wheat beers that is available in Texas. Dark golden straw in color. Yeasty and malty with fruit aromas. An excellent summertime brew.

Feb 25, 2009 Banana and malt aroma with some florals.
Cloudy butterscotch almost caramel color with an apple hue. Minimal white almost biege head with lots of action.
Banana, toasted malt, and wheat grain taste with a hint of caramel in the background and some florals throughout.
Medium bodied, some buttery and resiny feel, with a crisp comfortable carbonation.
This is a craft beer and when consumed swirl in the sediment in an appropriate glass and enjoy.
