A dark red near to black beer with a nice creamy light brown head. The aroma is malty with notes of caramel. Sweetish taste with malt, caramel, nuts and toffeee. Medium bodied, quite long bittersweet aftertaste. Not as good as the "Celebrator" but this is a very good warming beer. Furseth (1328), Kungälv, Sweden

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 20, 2007 Draught at Panimoravintola Bruuveri, Helsinki (as Ayinger Winter-Bock). Very dark red-brown in colour with a creamy, fluffy pale beige head. Lots of caramel in the aroma. Some doughy malt and hints of liquorice. On the palate, it has fruit cake and treacle malt, tempered by a subtle tart bite The mouthfeel is smooth and clean but not too sweet. Not a lot of body for the style. Perhaps a bit light, but quite tasty.

500ml bottle. No appreciable aroma at first, but a smooth but somewhat nondescript aroma does come through eventually. Taste ranges from creamy to bitter to metallic. The keg version is better than this sample.
