Not bad. Pours out a nice black color with a tan head. aroma is choco, roasted malt, and a touch of sweetness. The flavor is your standard run of the mill stout with a nice choco finish to it.

On tap at a brewfest, pours black with a thick brown head, nice lacing. Very chocolate in the aroma and taste. Thick but not too heavy. Really good good chocolate stout here.

22 oz. bottle shared with several other tasters. Dark, but transparent brown with some ruby highlights, and a yellowish tan medium head. Doesn’t look like a stout. Certainly has a chocolate aroma with some faint nuttiness and maybe some coffee. Medium body, thin, without the fullness and richness I’m looking for. Caramel and chocolate, but lacking depth, some balance at the finish coming from some light bitterness. This needs a lot more malt, it’s just too light in all regards for a stout.

on tap @HopfestNC-pours a dissipating tan head and copper color. Aroma is medium malt-caramel. Taste is medium malt-caramel/chocolate, secondary hops biterr, light/medium body. More like a thin brown ale/small beer.

Pours a reddish brown color with a small small tan head. Has a overwhelming vinagery taste. Could not taste any chocolate thoughout the brew. Might have been a bad bottle.

Pours dark reddish brown with an off-white head. A bit light colored for a stout. Aroma of slightly old milk and Hershey’s. Flavor of coffee and chocolate. Spoiled milk flavor in the background detracts from the quality of this one. Palate is smooth with a slightly sharp note. Dry finish. Blackbeard would not be proud of this.

Surprisingly light colored - like Iced Tea that had steeped too long. Milk Chocolate aroma, som whiffs of burnt toast, too. Flavors of dark chocolate and coffee and dryish finish. Nice stuff. Sampled at 2007 Hickory Hops
