Grovlam (2997), Copenhagen, Denmark May 9, 2008 Bottle. [Courtesy of yespr, thanks buddy] Large creamy off-white head that mostly lasted. Good display of lacework. Clear golden colour. Aroma of mild grass and cardboard, caramel, grain. Light bodied with a soft carbonation and light dry texture. Light bitter and sweet flavour. Light dry and bitter grassy finish.
Stew41 (862), Caulfield, Australia Aug 24, 2008 Blah. Not a bad beer I guess but completely unremarkable. Appearance as the genre - clear light copper and no head. Some simple sweetness on the nose with a stale element. Descriptor says hop aroma but more malt driven to me. More of the stale character to taste but I wouldn’t really call it offensive. Very mild hop impact. Nice lightly carbonated finish. Once again I’m left convinced that Czech beers are better on tap. Defreni (479), Frederiksberg, Denmark Aug 9, 2008 Filtreret lidt mere orange end pilsnergul. Nćsten ingen duft. Men en frugtrig lagersmag er der. Humlebitterheden er tilstede hvilket gřr det til en frisk řl. tomer (165), Israel Aug 8, 2008 0.5L bottle, labeled as Breznak Lager but the label on the bottle looks the same. Small head, dark golden colour bordering on the bronze, strong carbonation. herbal hoppy aroma with some light vanila notes, malty flavours with some vanila and mushroom notes with medium strong bitterness which is not overpowering and blends in with the rest of the flavours, sweet short aftertaste. Serious medium bodied pilsener. Theis (2039), Frederiksberg, Denmark Aug 7, 2008 Bottle at home - shared with Mette. Clear golden - white head. Caramel, sweetness, grainy, straw, hay, nice malty, light fruity, white sugar, syrup. Ok - a bit too muck sweetness. SHIG (1482), Oberoffligen, Germany Aug 4, 2008 Draught: Poured a golden with white head. The aroma is sweet malt and grain. The taste is bitter but also has that sweet finish.
