Mar 30, 2008 Cask conditioned - handpump - Malt Shovel Northampton. A black stout with an off-white head and lace. The aroma is slightly sweet and there are hoppy notes also. The taste is lovely. Dry and roasty. Very full bodied and long in the finish. An excellent, very tasty stout.

Dec 26, 2007 [707-20070926] Cask @ The Lord Moon of the Mall (London, GL). Fruity bitter coffee malt. Dark brown black body with a light tan foamy head. Sour fruity flavour. Full body has bitter finish. Fruitiness is weird, otherwise fine.

Basically black, creamy beige head. Chocolate burnt malt aroma. Smooth and mellow thick grainy roasted malt taste - decent chocolate component, some liquorice, but not sticking out abruptly at all. Must agree with the session stout comment.

Oct 20, 2007 Cask at the Old Manor House (JDW), Bracknell. Black with a cream head; chocolate aroma; creamy chocolate flavour with some coffee and some nuts; strongly bitter to finish. An excellent stout.

Nice smoothe stout with a grainy feeling on the tongue as well as a nice flavour of roasted malt. A fine session stout. A little coffee, a little liquorice.
