Cask conditioned - handpump - Malt Shovel, Northampton. A black beer with a nice beige head. The aroma is malty with dried fruits notes. The taste is he same and there are smoky and caramel notes. Pretty decent.

Cask, GBBF 2007. Dark ruby, no head. Nose is malty with not much in the way of anything else, maybe some espresso. Mouth is malty and slightly sour. Watery and fresh.

A Mes rate: Gravicask @ Reading Beer Festival. Deep dark red brown. Strong dark fruit aroma with heavy vanilla and marzipan. Flavour is very similar to the nose but with some arcid hop notes that let it down rather.

Cask at Wellington Arms, Bedford. Dark reddish brown with a small off-white head. Sweet malty aroma; the taste the same: intensely sweet fruit and malt. Couldn’t be smoother, oilier, smoother. No bitterness.
