Commercial Description:
A traditional mead made with wildflower honey from the thumb area of Michigan. The honey makes a richly complex mead, full of aromas and flavors of many of Michigan’s natural flora. We age this mead on American oak wich softens it and adds some nice vanilla notes.

Sampled during Great Taste of Midwest ’09 in Madison, Wisconsin. Pours a still sauvignon blanc colored mead with a clean disk top and some extra viscosity tears inside glass. Aroma of clover and a hint of violet flower honey with some light vanilla in the background. Taste is sweet honey, vanilla and a hint of marzipan almond. Finish is silky smooth, soft palate with a short lived vanilla and sweet honey aftertaste. Oh wow, how can we get more of this sweet mead in Minnesota?

This is the first decent mead I have ever tried, so I don’t really have any reference, but I did really enjoy this one. Smells like like honey, very sweet, and very floral. Pours a very light yellow like white wine. The taste is a little sweeter than I would like, but still very good overall. Taste matches the smell, honey and flowers. Very interesting and tasty. I’m looking forward to trying more from B Nektar.
