Pours pale golden with a small, frothy, white head. Dissipates to a thin film. Aroma has lots of crisp malts, light citrusy hops, some peppery spiciness and light fruity yeast. Highish carbonation, fine dry mouthfeel. Flavour is sweet and malty at first, some honey. A fine citrussy and grassy hops bitter finish. Fine tripel, somewhat drier and hoppier than most tripels. anders37 (4516), Malmö, Sweden Sep 5, 2009 Bottle @ Vilvordia Bierproef Festival, Jette, Brussels. Pours a slightly hazy yellow color with a white head. Has a fruity yeasty slightly hoppy citrus aroma. Fruity malty spicy flavor with hints of hops and some hints of yeast. Has a fruity malty hoppy bitter finish with a bitter aftertaste. TBone (6675), Pori, Finland Jul 24, 2009 Bottled (Bs, BBE 2010, "L01A-2008").
Hazy yellow color, small white head. Yeasty, barnyardish nose with pear sweetness and some iron. Apricot fruity and very alcoholic and spicey flavor. Long sweet alcholic aftertaste. Just like some European strong lagers ... oh6gdx (8795), Vasa, Finland Jul 11, 2009 Bottle (from belgianshop.com). A bit hazyish golden colour with big foam head. Aroma is alcohol, some fruityness, yeast, mild spices as well as malts and wood. Flavour is fruity, spicy, malty and yeasty. Also has some slight herbal notes. The alcohol mainly gives a burning feel while drinking, but not too much alcohol in flavour. Clean tripel, but also quite boring... JoeinUccle (902), Brussels, Belgium Jun 9, 2009 Bottle, from... can’t remember. Pours clear and bright yellow-gold with a big frothy head. Tangy, boozy nose like unripe pear drizzled in white rum. Quite a sweet beer, with a clean, even bitterness arriving late with a face-warming smack of alcohol. More sticky than lively. Bittersweet aftertaste. Sweet and strong and that’s the gist, there must be 100 tripels in Belgium just like this one. bu11zeye (5430), Frisco, Texas, USA Jun 4, 2009 (33cl bottle) Pours a clear pale yellow body with a medium white head. Aroma of earth, floral, and yeast. Flavor of grass, florals, and light grain.
