Commercial Description:
This amber colored pale ale will quench your thirst. It's smooth mild taste makes it Back Road Brewery's flagship beer. A generous dosing of fresh English hops nicely balances the beer's maltiness. A technique called dry hopping is used to add a fresh herbal like aroma. Drink and enjoy LaPorte's first hand crafted beer!!

(bottle) Honey-copper colored with very little white head. Faint malt aroma. Flavor is more caramel malt with only a bit of hops in the finish.

Draft, at 3 Floyds Brewpub. Gotta love the guest taps. If they’re going to the trouble of bringing in guest beers, the least we can do is drink them! A nice, coppery APA body under a thin APA head. It’s a very respectable APA, but it simply seems too average next too all this 3Fs stuff!. Clean, well-tuned, not a lot of faults to it. Not a very distinct hop profile, either, which is a mark against it, but a minor one.

This is a great microbrew. Bitter hops mixed with a smooth finish make this one of my favorites!

Hazy copper body with a thin, off-white head. The aroma is mostly malty, with a small amount of bitter hops to make things interesting. Toasted grains, caramel, whole nuts, brown sugar, and a touch of pine. Average mouthfeel with acceptable carbonation. The flavor displays more of a hop bitterness than expected from the nose. There is malt present, but it’s more one dimensional than I would have prefered. The finish is lightly bitter and of decent length. Average.

At the brewery. The appearance was that of a small sized ivory head with small-large bubbles that was mostly lasting throughout my rating. The body was uncarbonated, clear with an orange-brown hue. The nose was berries and malt with a bitter and hoppy flavor. The mouthfeel was smooth, somewhat dry and light. This beer had excellent lacing on the sides of my glass.

In a bottle at the brewery. This brew poured a medium sized head of foamy off-white colored long lasting bubbles that left behind an excellent lacing and a transparent softly carbonated light brown colored body. The aroma was a medium strength malt hop one with a mouthfeel that was initially slightly biting and lingered well into the finish. It had a typical mild malt hop flavor.

Thanks to BigBadBear63 for sending me yet another of his fine local brews!
A murky bronzed copper colored body with a fluffy creamy head floating atop. The aroma is an orchard of fruity perfumes, plumes, overly ripened blackberries & raspberries, cranberry juice, a sweet caramel maltyness as well.
The flavor is far different than the aroma. Big caramel malty existence, then a herbal yet woodsy hops bitterness. Nice smooth lightly creamy palate with a dry & bitter finish; Overall a well crafted Ale. Cheers again Mike!

Cloudy orange out of the bottle. Thin white head and earthy sweet nose. Bitter orange and apple fruitiness with a strong (and I agree metallic) hop finish. Better with a sandwich.
