Commercial Description:
Generous amounts of brewers oats give this beer a thick tan head and slick, almost oily mouthfeel. Roasted barley as well as black and chocolate malts give the beer its dark color and rich flavor. East kent golding hops are noticable but not overpowering. Our Oatmeal stout is definately a meal in a glass.

Black with a roasty malt aroma. Flavor was a bit thin. Roasty malts, coffee, chocolate with a rich roasty finish.

My 2000 American beer rating! Tap and bottle in the past hour: Pours a deep russet brown hue with a small fading frothy ring and minimal lace. The aroma has notes of chocolate, toasted malt, a hint of coffee and walnut, grassy and aromatic hops, and some acidic vapors. The flavor profile is twangy and sweet with a nice oat background supported by a fresh cut noble hop characteristic. Additional notes of bittersweet chocolate and earthy yeast round out the palate. The mouth feel is oily and lush but there is more than enough carbonation to excite the tongue. A well made Oatmeal Stout than is not heavy or rich, quite refreshing.

Draft sample at Back Road Fest. Poured dark brown with an average creamy brown head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate toasted sweet malty aroma. Medium to full body with a creamy texture. Medium sweet roasted flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration.

12 ounce bottle. Black coffee with a light brown head. Aromas of coffee with creamer, rolled oats, come light chocolate syrup notes. A bit hop hops in the nose and plenty of a bitter end. Lush on the palate. Very full and rich. Nice. Some good chocolate character. Not bad at all Chuck.

Bottle from Secret Santa. Good roasted malty aroma with a mild sweet chocolate. Black body with tan head. Was little hard to get a good description of the flavor on this one. I had a couple of coffee beers before this one. Had a good medium sweet roasted malt presence noticable. Smooth enjoyable brew on the palate.

Bottle from tjthresh. Poured almost black with a thick off white head. Very roasted aroma, coffee, chocolate. Rich velvety mouthfeel that coats the flavors of again, coffee, chocolate molasses and a bready yeastiness. Nice finish. A nice oatmeal stout.

12oz bottle shared courtesy of egajdzis. Poured a dark and muddy brown color with an average sized off white head. Aromas of roast, chocolate, light coffee, and light smoke. Tastes of roast, smoke, chocolate, and coffee. Thinner body.

Bottle. Thanks Noah (htsprint1) and Jen. Dark chocolate brown with a small but frothy tan head. Nose is chocolate, oatmeal, roasted coffee, prunes/raisins, toasted walnuts. Medium body with a smooth, creamy feel. Flavor captures the aroma. Some sweetness and a bit of bitter coffolate. A nice drink.
