Commercial Description:
Autumn Ale 2007 is officially a Nut Brown Ale. Brown ales are dark in color and very smooth to drink. Our brown ale is made with plenty of pale, brown and crystal malts. East kent golding hops are noticable but not overpowering. Enjoy a bit of smooth carmel malt with a rich taste.

12oz bottle, no date. Clear reddish brown with a one finger beige head, fair retention. Oh boy is this one butterscotchy. there is also some grain and caramel notes, as well as light walnuts. Flavor was a bit more nutty, and pulled back (a little) on the butterscotch. Earthy buttery finish with bitterness only around a 1-2. Light to moderate smooth carbonation with medium body. Not really that good at all.

12 oz. bottle from tjthresh. Pour is clear brown, not much of a head, what exists is tannish. Aroma of some biscuit malt, and some nuttiness. Taste is more of the maltiness and nuttiness. Nothing too exciting here, though it was quite drinkable. Thanks for bringing this one back, Tom.

12 ounce bottle from BBB63
Pours crystal clear brown. Maybe a shade or two closer to red. Thin tan lasting head.
The aroma is nutty, toasty, caramelish, and estery.
The flavor is sort of like cooked butter. Nutty. Creamy. A touch of earthy hop flavor. A little bit more bitter than expected.
Fairly heavy palate. Slick but the finish is dry.
Well, Its an okay enough beer. Can’t really recommend it to anybody. But its alright.

Draft sample at the brewpub during Fall Fest. Poured a clear dark brown color with a medium off-white frothy head that diminished slowly with good lacing. Medium toasted citrus malty aroma. Medium body with a slick texture and lively carbonation. Medium bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of average duration. My expectations where not met.

Where are the ratings from the fall fest? Sorry all I was out of town that weekend, my rating is from bottle and served in my Newcastle NBA pint glass:

Looks more deep amber than brown with a small layer of foam and okay lace. The aroma has notes of musty grains, day old doughnuts, hint of apricot esters, walnuts, and some herbal hops. The taste pretty much follows suit, malty and slightly sweet with a hint of fruitiness. A light acidity upon the finish along with some nutty character. The mouth feel is soft and chalky. Not much going on here, a very pedestrian brew for the masses. Nothing offensive, drinkable enough I guess. Disappointing IMO, sorry Chuck.
