Moderate malt aroma with notes of dark chocolate, coffee, molasses. Light floral hop aroma. Light yeast aroma, Copper/amber color, slightly hazy. Light head with low head retention with good lacing. Malty flavor with low hint of dark, dried fruit. Hoppy flavor and bitterness. Slightly tart. Medium light body, smooth mouthfeel, low carbonation. Lightly alochol warming with a sharp sour/ astringent finish. Tasy doppelbock but the slightly tart sourness is worrisome.

Pours a transparent dark mahogany with a thin ring of light tan head. Aroma of rich, sweet dark caramel malt. Body starts fairly full and caramely malty sweet with a hint of tartness and light fruity complexity. A decent doppelbock that might be slightly infected but it hasn’t completely taken over yet.

Bottle. Creamy chocolate, roasted malt, astringent aroma. Opaque brown with small head. Sweet chocolate malt flavor with hints of coffee and dried fruit and a moderate astringent finish. A tad on the sweet side but overall nice blending. Well made - could stand up to many German doppelbocks.

This reddish mahogany lager begins with a large tan head that settles down to a one-fingered height. The aroma is rich with lightly roasted malts joined by apples and molasses. The alcohol isn’t too well hidden in the flavor but serves to cut some of the malty sweetness. Nice dry finish. Decent enough.

Dark brown with a small, off-white head. Sweet malts — caramel, molasses, chocolate — dominate the aroma and flavor. Notes of toasted malts. The flavor is heavily sweet. Very little bitterness. Syrupy mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Alcohol comes through in the finish. Not near as sophisticated or complex as Celebrator or Optimator. And way, way too sweet to the point of being cloying.

Bottle. Rich malty aroma, dark dry fruit with molasses and that house funk. Caramel and some light yeast coming through. Deep ruby body with a rocky tanned head. Tart taste, a sort of fruity sourness, mostly malty, syrupy. Alcohol is definitely noticeable. Vanilla. A bit too sweet and stciky-syrupy. On the just-a-bit-watery side of a medium body. Out of whack.
