Pours a dark brown almost black. Small white head dissipating. Aroma is fruit and malt. Flavor is full of bitterness and malts. A hint of fruit and hops also. A complex filling beer, a great one at that! Thanks to BBB63 for this tasty brew!

Mike BBB63 gave me this about 5 months ago - it got lost in the mess of bottles in my fridge. Dark fruits and bitter chocolate soaked in rum and espresso with generous amounts of anise, vanilla, cinnamon and the crusty propane torched sugar from the top of a creme brulee. Leaves the tongue feeling somewhere between numb and plasitc bag. Great stuff - thanks Mike!

Another winner from BBB63! Pours dark brown with a medium, creamy, off-white head. Aroma of dark fruit, caramel, chocolate, some cinnamon. Tastes malty, fruity, with slight soy sauce, cognac, and scotch. Finishes firm, dense, fruity, somewhat dry, with a hit of bourbon on the way down. This one has a distinct bourbon-barrel flavor...it reminds me a little of Heresy with added dark fruitiness. Very nice.

Vintage Unknown. Probably 2004 Very dark, burnt caramel color. The tan head is small but is quite dense. Fruity and malty nose that is quite nice, but a little mellow. The flavor however is a burst of sweet caramel malt and maple. Amazingly well balanced, not overl y sweet as some doppleocks can be. The raw malt flavors and aroma are subdued but still there. The body is full but not too syrupy. This beer is quite a treat and my thanks go out to BBB63 for this surprise treat. Cheers!

Dark ruby black with a nice, lasting, but ultimately disappearing tan head. Very porterish on the nose. Chocolates, slight bit of roast. This is also fairly estery. The same goes for the flavor, but the esters get strong and bubblegummy. The bubblegum isn’t really to style, but I’m kind of digging it anyway.

Some malt aromas along with a chocolatly fruity smell. Brown in color with a light brown head. A bit of a chocolate taste, but there was a chalky overtone that just didn’t do it for me. Not bad, but not all that great.

Pours dark and grainy like a antique walnut table. The head is minimal. The flavor is rich and deep but too sweet. The complex raisin, prune, and earthy yeast flavors have been substituted by grapes, plums and underdeveloped yeasts. The palate is sticky and it is too syrupy to enjoy thuroughly.

Bottle. Thanks to BBB63 for sharing this one at thedm’s and hotstuff’s Fort Wayne tasting. It poured a large sized tan head that contained fine-small sized bubbles. There was no carbonation, opaque and a dark brown hue. The aroma was malty, caramel, some licorice notes and clove. The flavor was caramel, malty, fruit and some smokiness. The mouthfeel was a little tingly. This was a medium bodied beer with good lacing.
