Pours a transparent dark mahogany with a thin ring of light tan head. Aroma of rich, sweet dark caramel malt. Body starts fairly full and caramely malty sweet with a hint of tartness and light fruity complexity. A decent doppelbock that might be slightly infected but it hasn’t completely taken over yet.

Bottle... Murky burnt orange ale with a small, frothy, khaki-colored head. Everlasting retention around the edges of the glass. Fruity, chocolaty aroma of cocoa, dark cherries, black currants, wood and earthy hops. Full-bodied and very creamy with medium carbonation. Almost perfectly balanced. Medium sweetness, adequate bitterness and moderate acidity. Barrel aged cherry cola. Lengthy, tangy, sweet, and then tongue-numbing finish. Kudos to StFun for providing this interesting and delicious bottle of beer!

Deep brown. Musty, nutty smell containing almonds, and maple. Fairly strong alcohol profile, along with some nice pine plum flavors. Thick bodied. Very malty.

This reddish mahogany lager begins with a large tan head that settles down to a one-fingered height. The aroma is rich with lightly roasted malts joined by apples and molasses. The alcohol isn’t too well hidden in the flavor but serves to cut some of the malty sweetness. Nice dry finish. Decent enough.

Another winner from BBB63! Pours dark brown with a medium, creamy, off-white head. Aroma of dark fruit, caramel, chocolate, some cinnamon. Tastes malty, fruity, with slight soy sauce, cognac, and scotch. Finishes firm, dense, fruity, somewhat dry, with a hit of bourbon on the way down. This one has a distinct bourbon-barrel flavor...it reminds me a little of Heresy with added dark fruitiness. Very nice.

Bottle. Head is initially small, frothy/fizzy, light brown, fully diminishing. Body is dark brown. Aroma is moderately malty (toasted bread, caramel, molasses), with notes of maple syrup, vanilla, and alcohol. Flavor is heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Full body, watery/syrupy texture, lively carbonation, lightly to moderately alcoholic. Ok, but syrupy sweet to the point of causing tooth pain. Very difficult to drink.
