Commercial Description:
A notorious drink that is as dark as its namesake's history! Named after the infamous LaPorte serial killer Belle Gunness of 1908. Our Irish style dry stout is amazingly smooth to drink. You will taste chocolatey, coffee, and roasty flavors in every sip.

12oz bottle-An aroma of chocolate, coffee, and bacon. A good head that dissipates quickly. A taste of chocolate and malt that appears heavy on the back end. No real taste on the front end. Has potential.

Bottle. Chocolate, coffee and burnt grain aroma. Midnight black color with nice big head. Smokey malt flavor - body on the light side. Very nice tasting beer - just wish the flavor came out stronger.

On tap at the brewery. Deep midnight brown in color with some lightening at the edges, along with a creamy, dense and dark tan head. Traditional cocoa powder, coffee grinds and dark chocolate summarize aroma. Flavor reveals a tiny accent of rye that partners with a dark chocolate persona. Some black licorice comes in and washes out to sea, leaving a touch of acidity. Light to medium bodied and fairly easy going. Finishes like hot chocolate made with water and only half the cocoa powder that is typically required.

Fresh growler from the brewery. Deep opaque brown body with reddish highlights, thick light tan head. Rich coffee and fresh roasted malts dominated the aroma. Toasty. Thin, light coffee body with roasted malts. This is a very thin-bodied stout but also very easy to drink; the mouthfeel is nice and soft despite the lack of dense flavors. A session stout.

Plain and unremarkable. Rather thin dark appearance with a mediocore head. Aroma is moderatly malty and sweet. Flavor is much the same lightly chalky, lightly chocolate and roasted, nothing special going on here.

Opaque brownishblack color with a small off-white head. Malt, mushroom, and wine aroma. Semi-sweet chocolate, malt, wood, and mushroom flavors. Thin feel, fairly light carbonation.

Very dark brown, opaque, with a small beige head. The aroma was very different for me (for a dry stout)...dark chocolate, sweet molasses, coffee, and mushrooms(!). The flavor was sweet (too much for a dry stout), coffee, wood, mushrooms, molasses. The feel was far too thin, but not distracting...it makes you feel like you could drink 20 of these in a row...a "session" stout indeed. Thanks BBB63 for this unexpected stout.
