Courtesy of BBB63. Pours deep dark brown with thin mocha head. The aroma has mild fruity esters, blunt earthiness, mild spice and mild dark roasted maltiness. I get a creamy very welcoming mouth feel ushering in rich dark roasted malts followed by medium roasted malts and mild burnt malts. It ends in a flurry with notes of roasty malts, some faint burnt malts, chocolate malts, coffee and faint sweet dark fruity esters

Courtesy of BBB63. Thank you, sir.

This thing looks like a stout coming out of the glass....black body, very opaque, tan head, one finger thick with great retention and sheet lacing....chocolate malts, coffee, licorice, spices, dark malts and assorted sweet notes on the nose....flavor profile similar, heavy on the chocolate, picking up some tangy fruit notes as well....no apparent roastiness anywhere....medium bodied, average carbonation....lengthy finish, chocolate malts, licorice and spice....

12 oz bottle courtesy of BBB63 ( thanks Mike for this awesome brew ), & this was a bonus! Pours very dark, like old engine oil with a small tan head & spotty lacing. Who needs a head & lacing with a delicious brew like this. The initial flavor you experience is brown sugar, followed by molasses, caramel, mild soy & all the dark fruits. Finish is substantial enough to know your drinking a real beer, but not so oily that you feel you need to rinse your mouth out after you finish. It was indeed Christmas in March.

12oz bottle, no date. How long has American Dark Lager been a style? Black with a short-lived tan head. Smoke, tobacco, burnt toffee, and bitter chocolate with a soy sauce tang. Flavor continues with more smoke (I put it first in the aroma but it wasn’t the strongest), roast, and tangy soy again. Roasty dry finish with bitterness peaking at a 3. Low carbonation with a medium body. At first, I kinda thought that this beer was a bit of a mess, but as I drank, I found it pretty tasty.

Thanks to TheRealBastard for this one. Poured deep black with small brown head. Aromas of roasted malt and mollases. Complex flavors throughout with malt, sugars, and fruit with a creamy finish. I really enjoyed this beer and would drink again!

Bottle: The aroma consists of smoke, chocolate, bacon, and wood. It pours a dark brown with no transparency and a small off-white head. The flavor starts with moderate chocolate that fades to a smoky middle. The finish has a piny bitterness. Medium bodied with light carbonation.

Courtesy of BBB63. Dark brown/black body with a small tan head. The nose is light with chocolate, molasses, plums and toffee. The flavor is lightly sweet with chocolate, caramel, brown sugar and lingering baker’s chocolate. Medium body is soft with light carbonation.

Unsolicited free bottle from BBB63 during the strong ale festival. Thanks! Black liquid. Medium body. Little head. Malty aroma with some roasty undertones. Taste is dry and a little acidic.
