12 oz bottle from BBB63. Pours amber with a light tan head. Nose is sweet and hoppy and fragrant. Sweet hoppy and very resiny woody taste. Nice brew.

12oz bottle. Resiny aroma with a good dose of citrus. Wet wood and caramel malt as well. Pours a thick maroon/copper with a thick white head leaving excellent sticky lacing. Oily hops, sweeter malt with just a touch of wood tannin on the finish. Some light spice as well. Mostly full bodied. Lush and creamy. Excellent texture with a lasting hoppy and tannic finish. Big thanks to Mike for this rare gem!

Thanks to Haslinger for this brew. Appearance is dark golden with medium tan head. I get a lot of up front hop aroma with this along with some pine sap. Flavor has a lot of up front hop as well. I think you have to be a hop-head to enjoy this brew. I happen to be one so I enjoyed it. I can see how it could be looked down upon for it is not so well balanced but I did enjoy it. I might even buy it again.

Bottle, Apparently this is brewed by a Purdue graduate. I got it in West Lafayette. Aroma is hoppy and a little bit oily pine. Taste is earthy and very hoppy as expected. Good, probably wouldn’t buy again but I am not disappointed that I have 5 more to drink

This beer is good, but not great Thanks to BBB63 for it. Poured with hardly any head and had no smell at all. An over ripe orange peel color. I got some alcohol, bread, and earthly hops on the nose. Taste was on the dry end and empty. Was expecting more out of this DIPA, rather than the dry finish. The beer leaves you hanging; waiting for more. A decent beer just not thirst quenching.

Tap and bottle, served in my GI IPA tulip: Slight hazed coppery hue with a small frothy head and okay lace. The aroma has notes of mango and grapefruit esters, bready and caramelized malts, grassy and resiny malts, clove and pepper vapours, a bit of wood and some fusel alcohols. The taste starts acidic and fruity with a moderate hop bitterness at the front supported by sweet soft grains. The finish displays a light handed oak character and some hop spice notes. The mouth feel is soft and sprite with a dry minerally background and most of the alcohol hidden. Not too bad and an improvement over the 2007 version. Still would have liked to see more oak expression in the bottle. The tap version continues to sit on oak and should be even better. This is a beer for those whom enjoy their IIPA’s more balanced.
