awaisanen (1132), Irvine, California, USA Apr 14, 2007 On tap in Irvine. Dark brown, tannic colored pour with some ruddy mahogany hues and a thin layer of cream head. Aroma of dry chocolate powder and a touch of prune skins. Not overly fruity, but plenty of dry dark malts that aren’t overly roasty. Medium bodied, moderately carbonated mouthfeel. Dark caramelly malt flavor that again, is neither roasty or fruity (and I don’t mean that in the estery sense), just a lot of dry dark malts. Medium weight chocolate a faint hint of vanilla. Some dry, nutty coconut husks linger pleasantly in the final smack, along with some enjoyable minty hops.
