Commercial Description:
A "not so west coast" I.P.A. Though hoppy this beer also has a very intentional malt presence in order to create a more harmonious flavor. With so many great San Diego I.P.A.’s I wanted to offer a slightly different spin from the norm.

On tap at Backstreet a while back. Pours a thick creamy head with nice lacing developing as the glass was drained, color golden cloudy orange. Nose of mild floral hops with some resinous overtones, not as powerful as anticipated, nice mouth feel good, tastes of sweet, almost honey like malts, then hops come in, not as heavily as expected. This brew was more typical of an English style IPA, pleasant, nicely balanced.

Not as much of an "in your face" style IPA as "the Playmaker," but quite good.

On draft at SD BrewCo, during CDC week. Arrives a golden amber color, mostly clear with a small head and spotty lace. Aroma of toasty malts, some diacetyl butteriness, mingled with floral and citrus hops. Flavor again features the toasty malts, along with herbal and floral hops, orange peel combined in a brash and assertive way. Medium body, and quite prickly carbonation.

Draught. Marks for Appearance are an average, as beer was sampled in weak artificial light after dark. Leafy, near grassy hops, and a background of sweet pastry. Excellent balance sweet-hoppy. Rosewater flavour, cactusfig and rioting grapey hops. Medium to well bodied, slick. Excellent balance, seldom achieved, let alone in a W.C. IPA.
