Tasted at the 2004 Pizza Port Strong Ale Fest. Dark orange gold color. Small to medium head. Aroma is malty and sweet. A medium bodied Old Ale. Malts are fruity and sweet. Hops are slightly bitter and grapefruity. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

At the 2004 Strong Ale Festival. Golden pour with red tones. Nose of sweet hops, yeast, spice, mold? Kind of a medicinal flavor brew, but creamy and smooth, with a nice aftertaste.

Poured tan with minimal head. Nice malt and musky aroma with I like about Old Ales.

A burnt wood color to it with a soapy small head. Kind of a bland funk to the aroma. Has an earth dirt and dark fruit thing going on in the body. I am impartial to the style, so i suppose its aight.

Sampled @ Strong Ale Fest San Diego

The beer has a hazy and blurry brown appearance with a smallish head that is frothy in texture also a light tan color and after decomposition the lace forms a fine sealing sheet to cover the glass. Earthy aroma with sweet malt, crisp and the start malt laden and somewhat sweet, the top is middling in its feel to the palate. Finish has a bit of acidic bite with the hops pleasingly spicy and the aftertaste quite dry, a quaffable brew.

Brown pour with no head. Flavor is full of dark fruit and rich malt. Very full bodied with just a hint of alcohol bite near the finish.

I sampled the Magnus Magnus Old Ale at the Strong Ale Festival this past weekend. It poured a nice amber, mildly brown colour with a very minimal head. The aroma was that of pure yeastiness. The taste was fairly complex with heavy bitterness, some serious spiceyness and definite yeastiness coming through leaving one hell of a strong aftertaste. The problem was that these tastes didnt quite work well with one another and made for one cringingly powerful bite.
