Sweet, sticky caramel malty toffee aroma has some light fruity notes. Body starts full and sweet with some caramel and brown sugar complexity toward a warming, bittersweet earthy finish. Could use more balance. goldtwins (4084), Nesconset, New York, USA

Spicy, moderately sweet, wheaty, slightly sour, and the alcohol is readily apparent. The nose is malty and earthy, but I’m also getting the mild, yet unmistakeable smell of vinegar throughout this tasting session, though it’s not strong enough to ruin the overall nose. Medium in bodiy with a slightly sticky mouthfeel. Murky, ruddy brown color. Small light tan head fades away to nothing. Kind of an odd beer, and I’m not all that impressed. It is the $2 special at Pizza Port tonight, so maybe it’s the same keg as they had at the Strong Ale Festival last month and they are trying to get rid of it. Gusler (2655), Tucson, Arizona, USA

The beer has a hazy and blurry brown appearance with a smallish head that is frothy in texture also a light tan color and after decomposition the lace forms a fine sealing sheet to cover the glass. Earthy aroma with sweet malt, crisp and the start malt laden and somewhat sweet, the top is middling in its feel to the palate. Finish has a bit of acidic bite with the hops pleasingly spicy and the aftertaste quite dry, a quaffable brew.
