Back Street Munthalator Maibock

On tap in Irvine. Pours an orangish copper color with a two finger layer of soapy, off-white head. Lightly sweet, floral aromas of rye seed, orange blossoms, and some green raisins. Some subtle vinous semi-sweet sherry notes also linger in the nostrils. Light, but rich body with a tingling carbonation sensation on the palate. Pleasantly sweet malty flavors of brown sugar glazed pumpernickel bread. There are some lighter sweet jimaca fruits behind the raw sugary rye base. The finish is lightly hoppy with a final smack of mild white grapefruit. Quite enjoyable overall - another pleasantly surprising seasonal delight from this brewer.
