dark ruby red, wispy tan head, big sweet caramel malt aroma, creamy body, rich malt flavor, lots of sweetness, a bit of earthy hops try to balance but falls short and just adds some nice character,

CaptainCougar (4633), Rockville, Maryland, USA Apr 15, 2007 On tap at the 10th Annual San Diego Strong Ale Festival: Clear copper orange pour has a frothy, spotty-lacing tan head. Toasty, grainy pale German malty aroma has good authenticity. Body starts semi-sweet, full-bodied and slightly tart with some light fruity notes turning more grainy and dry toward the finish. Fairly true to style, but could lose some of its tartness. LilKem (1169), Marietta, Ohio, USA Mar 25, 2007 @ sd strong ale 06: a mix of fruit, rainsin and lemon and apple. i have carmel apples written down so some carmel and chocolate malt. goldtwins (3731), Nesconset, New York, USA Feb 7, 2007 10th Annual SD Strong Ale Fest: Poured a clear deep amber color with a small off-white head. The aroma was sweet with light raisins and some caramel. Fruity caramel flavor with a tart finish. Moderately bitter finish.
