RSRIZZO (987), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Sep 17, 2007 Had this beer on 2/25/1998. Color is a rich red shade with nice carbonation and a good head. The aroma is a sweet caramel malt scent with slight hop back tones. Taste comes on with a strong bitter taste that is balanced well with a good malty body. It starts off with an almost creamy body then goes down crisp. The finish is where most to the flavor is, the creamy body leaves you with a nice malt taste and a big bold bitterness that is just right. igneous1 (1360), Davenport, Iowa, USA Mar 12, 2002 ok, two VERY different opinions here. i thought this was one of the worst IPA’s i’ve had...had a nice color to it, but ZERO head. and the aroma wasnt that bad, but the taste was too bitter..anyway, maybe my tastes are less experienced than that of others, but this is an IPA i wont try again.
