BDR (1907), Roseville, Minnesota, USA Apr 30, 2007 Pale amber color with ample head. Crisp sweet smell with some caramel. Dehydrated apple taste with a lot of carbonation. Skyview (2908), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA Apr 30, 2007 On tap at the brewpub/bowling alley. Pours a reddish dark amber with a good size head. The head stays even at low temperature. Slowly dissolving head and a very good lacing. Aroma is sweet malt, caramel, mixed fruit, especially dehydrated apples. Taste is sweet at first and then a dry finish. A little high on the carbonation but still very good. Previous beer raters may have had a bad batch sample as I consider this their second best beer. DiscoForever (59), Dunedin, New Zealand Sep 16, 2005 Slight choc in aroma, but again, like the Nut Brown, this is sour. Looks dark brown - red if held to light, no head. Tastes bitter, tangy and sour and overpowering. Lactic. Finishes quicker than the Nut Brown. Light - med body with minimum carb. Again, not great. Sledge Jr (2720), Omaha, Nebraska, USA Aug 19, 2005 On tap at the Brewpub. Red amber color with a white head. Big carbonation bubbles. No aroma. Very tart sour taste. No finishing hops. Smells like vinegar. Pretty awful stuff. GrainBeltGuzzler (249), Goodhue, Minnesota, USA Nov 28, 2004 Nice looking amber color, smelled just a little bit sour, tastes indescribable, really musty and sour, a flavor I really can’t put my finger on, all I know is I don’t like it, maybe it was a tap without the proper turnover, beer got old in the pipes or something, not real great or even good for that matter
