Nov 16, 2009 Cask conditioned handpump Old Fox Birmingham. A dark brown to mahogany coloured beer. A good aroma with coffee, licorice, and wood varnish. Good malty flavours with fruit wood and licorice. Bits of aniseed mixed in for good measure. A really nice beer.

Sep 21, 2009 Cask at peterborough beer fest 2009. Alround rating: Roast black malt, fairly sweet with not much balance off the hop, but still drinkable enough.

Apr 27, 2009 Cask, That Pub Opposite The Hippodrome, Birmingham. Dusty coffee and cherry aroma. Cherry, marzipan, caramel, bit of mushroom. Strange walnut bitterness for the syle (mild?), some ganja in the aroma. Better after it’s been standing for half an hour. Saw it off in the end. Pretty refreshing I suppose. Not very mild-like, although the pumpclip described it as such.

Mar 29, 2009 Cask conditioned at The wellington, Birmingham. Dark brown with cream head. Good rich fruity beer, pretty smooth and full and a touch of tartness. Some blackberry, plummy notes and a roasted malty depth. Quite good.
