A full bodied winter ale. Black as an Alaskan winters night. Full of rich malt flavours; Coffee, chocolate and nutty warmth. A slightly sweet and very robust beer to keep the winter cold at bay

Cask Conditioned at Oxford Beer Fest ’08 in company of Hughie & Maeib.Black with no head. Like a thin stout but with a watry character. Slightly tart and prunish fruity, almost farty. Liquorice yes and late bitterness, its fine without getting to the high notes.

Cask at Oxford BF ’08. Very dark brown with a small off white head. Sweet leathery malt aroma. Some pear fruit in the taste, otherwise it’s a gentle liquorice flavour. Slight bitterness. Quite good.
