(291207) harrisoni (5474), Ashford, Kent, England Aug 8, 2005 Cask at GBBF 2005. Dark copper colour, typical Badger yeast nose. OK fruit but thin finish. In fact this seemed a little stale and dull so may not have been in the best of condition for a tasting chriso (4420), London, Greater London, England Dec 11, 2005 Updated: Mar 24, 2006Cask (handpump) at GBBF, August 2005. Badger have put a lot of time and promotional activity into this beer. Its certainly an attractive enough beer - a rich copper colour. But, after that, although its perfectly pleasant, I thought it fell a bit short. The aroma is gently grassy, but a bit short of intensity. On the palate its quite dry and fresh with dabs of citric hop, a smidgen of fruit and a dash of bitterness. But it didn’t really have enough of anything to make a lasting impression. So it ends up in the overpopulated British "solid but unspectacular" camp. (5/4/6/3/12/3.0). RE-RATE. Fountain Inn, Chichester, 25 Feb 2006. On far better form than my first tasting. Bright, mid copper colour. Hops far better defined. Very citric. Crisp and refreshing.
imdownthepub (4247), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England Feb 13, 2006 Cask conditioned at The Prince Edward, Bayswater, London. Dark reddish amber colour with bubbly head. Bright fragrant beer with a dusty hop aroma. The body is a little sweetish with a long hop bitterness giving some palate dryness on the finish. Easy drinking pleasant bitter, good for a session.
