berkshire_john (1106), Bracknell, Berkshire, England Jun 29, 2008 Cask at the Peacock Farm, Bracknell. Reddish brown with a thin white head; fruity malt aroma; rather boring fruity malt flavour, with some bitterness to finish.
HogcliffeLenny (155), Christchurch, Dorset, England Sep 14, 2008 Cask at The Amberwood (Hall & Woodhouse), Walkford. I found this to be a slight improvement over the bottled version, but then it just could have been the good company that made it seem better. Colour is deep amber and has a small white head. Hoppy aroma, with malts. I found the cask taste to be crisper than the bottle. A refreshing beer to enjoy with the last of the summer sun. That said, I should not get too carried away because it rates as an average beer.. SaintMatty (515), Tallinn, Estonia Aug 27, 2008 Cask (Ship and Shovell,London) - Copper brown in colour. Fruity aroma with a hint of fruit cake. Rich and fruity taste with moderate bitterness. Drinkable but could have more flavour. DruncanVeasey (1735), No. 46, Leicestershire, Germany Aug 1, 2008 That Hall and Woodhouse pub in Horsham town centre. Headless medicinal bitterness, blue Allsorts, vaguely blackcurranty fruit, peanutty afters. Dark dirty amber. Quite nasty and astringent, and nothing like its bottled counterpart. EHSRanders (711), Randers C, Denmark Jun 5, 2008 Cask at Prince Edward. Clear amber colour with medium creamy white mostly lasting head. Malty aroma. Bitter flavor and finish.
