SDbruboy (1809), San Diego, California, USA May 13, 2008 500 ml bottle, from the 2008 World Beer Cup, courtesy of DarkElf - thanks! Pours clear golden orange with a small white head, the diminishe to a ring. Aroma of light biscuity malts and fragrant floral notes. Flavor is tart, refreshing flavor, a bit of summer fruit - not quite ripe - crisp floral hops, with hints of citrus and spice in the finish. Light body and aggressive carbonation. Pleasant and refreshing when chilled.

Pyobon (130), Sydney, Australia Jun 22, 2008 Bottle. Pale amber slight head. Slightly flowery aroma. Light body, fizzy. malt and flowery hops with very little bitterness. Very drinkable, but a little insubstantial. Doppelganger (1080), Oxford, Oxfordshire, England Jun 15, 2008 Bottle, from my local Woodstock Coop. Pleased to see something new, as my Coop has a rather lackluster beer selection, and this looked at least it might be interesting. Let’s see. Pale copper pour, some white head. The nose alternates between green weed, window cleaning spray, and that phenolic/ozone sort of hot circuit board smell. Not the full-on hideous reak of actual toasted circuit board...just one very hot around the collar. Flavor is chewy green lawn, sprayed liberally with dandelion killer. And some ultra-cheap sugary marmalade with barely a trace of orange in it, the sort you bought in college days but then realized was worse than just eating dry toast. There is a lot of flavor going on in this, and at least some respect is due for a brewer not trying to sneak by another of the same old thing. Unfortunately, the flavors here are, on the whole, just not nice. wheresthepath (189), Buckinghamshire, England May 11, 2008 [500ml bottle from Asda High Wycombe] Shared with Jim. Surprisingly smooth and creamy for such an overly fizzy beer, but tastes somehow green and unripe - left a nasty sour taste. Not for me this one.
