johndoughty (1692), cheslyn hay, West Midlands, England Sep 14, 2008 Bottle. Very clear golden appearance. Malty with an amazing amount of flavour considering its low strength. Very refreshing and summery. Don’t be put off by its low strength. This is a very
pleasant beer. Joeh (1892), Buckinghamshire, England Jan 30, 2008 Bottle from Tesco. Pours a golden colour with a thin white head. Very effervescent. Initial aroma is a blast of perfumy hops, leading to a slightly strange meatyness in the background. The highly perfumed aroma extends in to the taste and is backed up by a fine biscuity malt and some fruit. Despite the heavy hopping the overall bitterness is kept rather low as to not overpower what is a light malt base. The low alcohol content is not immediately obvious but it feels increasingly watery as you move down the glass. One of the better Badger beers. cgarvieuk (2609), Edinburgh, Scotland Jan 12, 2008 Bottle at home ... Golden Blonde ... light hop with a wahsing up liquid cirtric nose ... light fruity juicy hop ... there a hop im not a fan of but its reasonable rounded and balanced. DruncanVeasey (1814), No. 46, Leicestershire, Belgium Mar 21, 2008 Always that Badger taste. You know the one- peanut butter, egg custard, wet dough, biscuit, vanilla....whatever it is. Yeasty/pastry sweetness. Actually, the dominant note heer is definitely peanut butter, but not in a bad way. Loks like lageer, fizzes, maintains a head, smells like an alsatian that/.s been wriggling in something dead. This is the tastiest, best conditionesd 2.5% real-ish bottled ale ive ever had. That’s to say it’s the ONLY 2.5% real-ish bottled ale ive ever had, and for that it must be applauded. .. Camrakipah (15), Birmingham, England Jan 13, 2008 Cinq cent millilitres (Short-changed Pint) bottle from Tesco. Very pale appearance, slightly watery initial taste with a distintive but short lived "Badger" flavour which I can’t quite pin down but like. After-taste is a little bitter. However, the concept of a low alcohol ale that has a distinctive real ale taste is a good one in my opinion. I am often the driver when visiting out of the way pubs and a two and a half percent ale, on tap, would be a great help (especially if the govt reduces the allowed max even more).
