Handpulled cask at JDW Watford during recent international beer fest. Dark gold with a thick creamy off-white head. A warming malt aroma. A grainy malt flavour that becomes a richer caramel through the swallow. Quite a hoppy finish, giving it a drying character. A complex beer and quite enjoyable.

Cask, The Highcross, Leicester. Golden with a white foam. Aromas are dry biscuit and mellow lemon with apricot and hints of sulphur. Flavours are dry and yeasty with lemon. Spicy and peppery hops with some floral notes. Lacks depth but refreshing. Quite thick on the palate.

Cask, gravity dispense, at Bankers Draft (JDW), Bedford, in Wetherspoons Real Ale Festival. Gold. Gentle malt aroma. Grainy malt taste with some citrus fruits. Some bitterness. Quite good, if a little warm.
